Abbi Detlefsen

Abbi joined the National Willa Cather Center staff as a tour guide in 2024 and was promoted to our full-time education and program associate in January 2025. In this role she assists with planning, executing, and promoting arts and educational events and services at both the National Willa Cather Center and Red Cloud Opera House. She also works closely with the visitor services coordinator and will continue to give guided tours of our historic sites.

A resident of nearby Franklin, Abbi received her B.A. in history in 2020 from Peru State College, in Peru, Nebraska, where she was a Phi Alpha Theta member from 2017-2020 (a historical society sorority). She recently interned with the Peru Historical Society.

Abbi enjoys reading and meeting new people and has a passion for studying historical events and people that she learned about from her father and grandfather.
