Donna K. Gower

Donna Gower is director of development, Kansas, for FosterAdopt Connect, whose mission is to provide advocacy and innovative programming which supports and empowers foster children, their families, and alumni impacted by the child welfare system. With over twenty years of experience in nonprofit development, she has a strong track record in fundraising and community engagement.

Gower's appreciation for Willa Cather began with an in-depth author study project during high school: "Immersing myself in her works allowed me to truly grasp the depth of her storytelling and her profound understanding of human resilience," she said.

"I'm passionate about the mission of the National Willa Cather Center because it preserves and celebrates Cather's legacy, which has deeply influenced my understanding of literature. The Center’s commitment to education and community engagement helps ensure her powerful stories continue to inspire future generations."
