Apply for Our New Teacher Institute!

We are pleased to announce that our inaugural Teacher Institute will take place July 7-11 this year! In an educator needs assessment first made available to teachers in 2019, most respondents identified both a teacher summit and lesson materials as the things that would be most helpful to their efforts to bring Willa Cather to their classrooms. To meet both of these needs, education staff at the National Willa Cather Center has developed a summer teacher institute to provide immersive learning opportunities for educators as well as dedicated time to develop a rich supply of activities, lessons, and other educational assets that help students learn about Willa Cather. To be considered, teachers must complete an application, and those who are selected will receive a certificate that indicates what the program consists of and how many hours of work participants completed.

Applications are available online, and the last day to apply is April 30.
