This April 23, Donovan Johnson returns to Red Cloud with Nebraska Showdown and Shameless!—a tribute to one of the biggest stars in all of music history, Garth Brooks. Sing along and dance to your favorites like "Friends in Low Places," "Ain't Goin' Down," and "Two Piña Coladas!"
About the Band
David Forney (lead vocals) established himself in the Omaha music scene over ten years ago with his band Crossfire, opening for artists like Jason Aldean, Brad Paisley, The Band Perry, Charlie Daniels, and Brothers Osborne.
Donovan Johnson (piano/vocals) has played some of the biggest stages in music from the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville to Carnegie Hall in New York City. Donovan is a published composer; his credits include performing with the Glenn Miller Orchestra. His other tribute shows include "The Music of Vince Guaraldi and the Peanuts" and "Highball! A Tribute to the Rocking Sounds of Jerry Lee Lewis."
Kevin Kerwin (guitar/vocals) is a much sought-after studio and live artist, performing with his wife Kristi as "The Kerwins," and most recently collaborating on the album "King of the Flames" with steam-punk star Alan King.
Frank Gappa (bass guitar) is a staple of the Omaha music scene, performing with live bands including Taxi Driver, Avaricious, Ecstatic, Knights and Daze, and Caught Looking. In addition to bass, Frank is also a skilled saxophonist and guitar player.
Bill Nanson (drums/percussion) has had a varied music career including a long run with legendary regional band The Confidentials opening for Starship and Grand Funk Railroad. Bill has been a music educator for thirty years and is currently a middle school band director teaching the next generation of future musicians.
Skinny Webb (lead guitar/lap steel) is a multi-instrumentalist specializing in guitar, mandolin, and lap steel. He has collaborated and performed with Los lobos and Black Oak Arkansas, as well as Nashville recording artists George Hamilton, Casi Joy, and Grace Maher. Skinny was inducted into the Iowa Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2021.
