Red Cloud, NE 68970
United States

Join us as we celebrate the return of the Willa Cather State Historic Sites, the Willa Cather Pioneer Memorial Collection, and unveil a new vision for our future. Highlights will include:

3:30 to 4:00 p.m.

Welcome and remarks

4:00 to 5:30 p.m.

Artifacts and oddities. Bring your historical Webster County or Cather-related items to showcase. We’re interested in seeing your Bradbrook cabinet cards, historical photos of all kinds, Webster County homestead records, B&M railroad items, Cather-related items, promotional and business items from early Red Cloud and Webster County businesses, and more. Tracy Tucker (National Willa Cather Center) and Teresa Young (Webster County Historical Museum) will be on hand, as part of an effort to document our local history, to digitize your treasures and talk with you about preserving our history for decades to come. Because we know that your historical items are priceless, we will not be offering appraisals, but can connect you with our network of qualified appraisers. We also need your help to identify several mystery items for our collection!

Welcome home. Explore a special viewing of original artifacts, unexhibited for many years.

5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Celebratory toast and special announcements. With special guests sculptor Littleton Alston and NET Television’s Ron Hull. We'll look to the future, including a preview of plans for the WCPM Collection, the Willa Cather Historic Sites, and the Willa Cather National Statuary Hall project.

6:30 to 9:00 P.M.

Burlington Depot Social. Enjoy local food vendors, craft cocktails & beer, and Victorian-era music and croquet.
